Armet's Sod Care Instructions

Watering
Frequent watering is important for the next 10-12 days. The roots are not able to supply the needed moisture to the grass blades. Cold, wind, and heat extract the moisture quickly. It is a good idea to water the new grass until it is wet, not soggy and not dry. Once established, water in the morning only and continue to keep the grass constantly moist. Deep watering is best.
Mowing
Your first mowing should be after your sod has rooted, usually 7-12 days. Test: Try to pull sod pad up, if it resists, cut back watering, mow 2-3 days later. Set mower at highest possible setting. Two days later, mow at recommended height of 2-3 inches. You should never mow more than 1/3 of the blade at a time.
Fertilizing
Fertilize every 4-6 weeks. There are many types on the market. Triple 16 works great! Nitrogen over 20 is not necessary and can burn and possibly kill your grass.
Iron
Can be applied at 1/3 the recommended rate every 8-12 weeks, or approximately every 6 months. Be careful not to get on anything but the grass. It leaves permanent stains. Iron helps release the nutrients that are bound up in the soil, keeping your grass healthy and green.
